Mary Lou Austin, 81, of Mize, Mississippi, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Select Specialty in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Friday, December 23, 1938.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mize, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mize. The burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. John Barnes will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mary Lou was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband Carroll for almost 62 years.  She was a loving mother and a proud grandmother.  She loved to cook and bake special treats.  She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she played the piano, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school and Bible School for many years.  Mary Lou touched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Searcy and Lucille Tilson Howell; one brother, Bernard Howell; and one sister, Jennie Aycock.

Survivors include her loving husband, Carroll Austin; her children, Lisa Blackwell (Don), Billy Austin (Penny), Belinda Kirk (Steve), and James Austin; her grandchildren Shontai Owens, Tristan Austin, Mary Kaitlyn Kirk, Alex Kirk, Austin Blackwell, Seth Kirk and Marissa Mulconrey; one brother, Thomas Harold Howell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tristan Austin, Austin Blackwell, Dustin Owens, Jason Aycock, Reed Howell, and Scott Runnels.
