Mary Ellen Richardson, 89, of Mize, Mississippi, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at MS Care Center in Raleigh, Mississippi. She was born Wednesday, April 30, 1930, in Hot Coffee, Mississippi in Covington County.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019, from 4:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 19, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The burial will follow at Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery in Hot Coffee, Mississippi, with Bro. Herb Nettleton and Bro. Rudy Jackson officiating. Mary Ellen enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. She was an avid gardener and grew beautiful vegetables and flowers. She had a great love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as her dog Baby. She will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, W.L. Richardson; parents, John & Rosa Corley; children, Teresa Windham and Diane Frith; siblings, Earl Dalton Corley, Samuel Oree Corley, James Braxton Corley, Cliff L Corley, John Edward “Bugg” Corley, Lou Ella Corley.
Survivors include daughter, Maurine Allen and husband Ricky; step-daughter, Claudia Sue Herrington; Son-in-law, Alton Frith; Grandchildren, Blake Allen and special friend Kim, Brooke Butler and husband Bill, James Frith and wife Jessica, Wendell Frith, Amp Frith and wife Sandra, Jennifer Frith and special friend Tru, Claude Dupree, Frankie Dupree, Rachel Dupree; a host of Great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Lou Sanford, Rose Marion Sellers and husband Haskel, Etta Merle Polson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Blake Allen, Lance Allen, Amp Frith, Wendell Frith, James Frith, and Colton Frith. Honorary pallbearers are Brady Allen, Claude Dupree, Frankie Dupree and Lee Windham.
