Mary Elizabeth Robinson, 89, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Saturday at Rush Hospital in Meridian.
She was born Monday, September 3, 1928.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. The Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mary Elizabeth (fondly known as “Aunt Liz”) was born In Alexandria, Louisiana and grew up in McComb, Mississippi. She and her family later moved to Raleigh, Mississippi where she would graduate from high school. After high school, she furthered her studies at the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
Upon graduation, she taught Home Economics at Mlze High School and was a Home Economist for Mississippi Power and Lights. She retired as a Social Worker with the Smith County Welfare Department.
In the Summer of 1953, she married the love of her life Bob Robinson. They spent 64 happy years together until he passed away in April of 2017.
She was a member of the Green Sprouts Garden Giub and was an active member of Taylorsville First Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, making new memories and sharing stories from the past, scrap-booking family photos, reading her Bible and most of all serving tie Lord. Her love of family and God will always be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Robinson; Parents, Harwell Boyd and Hattie Boyd; one brother.
Survivors include her sisters- in- laws, Vera Windham, Kate Pitts and Debbie Phillips; A host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fellowship Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 906 Taylorsville, MS 39168.
