In Loving Memory of Doris Craft Wells

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Doris Craft Wells, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ. Born in Smith County, Mississippi, to Beulah Stewart and Rassie Craft, Doris was the youngest of five siblings: Daisy Craft Cooley, Delton Craft, Aubrey Craft, and L.D. Craft, and Billy Stewart Craft.

Doris devoted her life to her husband, family, and faith. She was the cherished wife of Travis Graham Wells for over 69 years—a marriage marked by enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised four children:           Milton David Wells (Marilyn) – Mendenhall, Mississippi; Rodney Craft Wells – Mize, Mississippi; Lori Ann Wells Shelton (Gregory) – Brandon, Mississippi; Carl Douglas Wells (Sherry) – Decatur, Alabama.

Her legacy continues through eight grandchildren—Scott Wells, Stephen Wells, Brian Wells, Jessica Wells Holmes, Brooke Stuard Crawford, Megan Stuard Thornton, Victoria Wells Batchelor, and Aaron Wells—and fifteen great-grandchildren, each a testament to her love and devotion to her family.

Doris was a woman of quiet strength and deep faith. She served her family and community with humility and grace, always putting others before herself. Her heart belonged to Maranatha Baptist Church in Mize, where she found joy in worship and fellowship. Her life was a living testimony of Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who have known her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee in 302 Eighth Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 202,5 at 10:00 am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Olive, MS. Bro. Rudy Jackson, and Bro. Danny Adams will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Instead of flowers, the children suggest that donations be made to either St. Jude’s Hospital or the Children’s of Mississippi.
