Mary Elizabeth Holbrook, 81, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1942, to H.J. Hudson and Christine Warren Hudson in Jackson, MS.
Liz was a faithful member of Goodwater Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for over forty years. She also taught school at Magee High School for over twenty years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H.J. and Christine Hudson, and her husband, John Earl Holbrook and sister, Theresa Miller (Bill).
She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Chip Holbrook (Theresa) and Rob Holbrook (Dana); brother, Frank Hudson (Annette); four grandchildren, Jacob Holbrook, Hannah Holbrook, Zachary Holbrook and Karlee Holbrook.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be on Tuesday, November 28, at Goodwater Baptist Church at 11:00 am with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Bro. Jason Webb will officiate the service with interment following in Goodwater Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
