ColonialChapelMary Bush Barwick, 91, passed from this life Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Ridgeland. She was born Sunday, July 01, 1923 in Simpson County..

Funeral Services  will be  Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall with Rev. Rodney Anderson officiating and  visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in  Braxton City Cemetery.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in charge of arrangements (601) 847-4401.

Mrs. Mary attended and majored in music at Copiah Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, and University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg. She taught band in Winona, and North Little Rock, Arkansas. She returned to Mississippi and worked for the Mississippi State Welfare Department prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry Sheppard and Louella Bush Sheppard of Mendenhall; Her Husband, James A. Barwick of Braxton; Sister, Bonnie Bess Halle, of Jackson;  Brothers, Joe Harold Sheppard of Satartia, and Wilroy Sheppard, of Hattiesburg; Niece, Mary Jane Boyd of Byram, and great nephew, Larry Wayne Boyd of Jackson.

She is survived by two nieces, Eugenia Sheppard Stricklin of Satartia, and Betty Halle Gilliland (Dee) of Brandon; One nephew, Gene Sheppard (Wanda) of Fairhope, Alabama; and
Five great nephews, five great nieces, ten great, great nephews and seven great, great nieces

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Family Life Center, Mendenhall, MS.
