Martha Jean Layton Carney, 66, of Braxton, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Braxton, with Bro. Andy Gipson officiating. Burial will be in Old Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements, (601)847-4401.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Braxton.

She is survived by her daughters – Julie Theisen (Matt), Texas; Dawn S. Brown (Harold), Braxton, MS; Christy Parish, TX; Brothers – Bill Layton (Betty), Jimmy Layton (Tresa), David Layton (Yvonne), Sisters, Barbara Gilman (Dick), Juanita Layton, Johnnie McWilliams (Daniel), Teresa Smith (Tommy), Joan Davidson, Nancy Marshall (Perry); Seven Grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren
