Marcia Ann Seliskar Russell June 3, 1940 – June 25, 2025

Marcia Ann Seliskar Russell, beloved mother, artist, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025.

Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Marcia later moved to Sherman, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Pete Russell. Together, Marcia and Pete settled in Magee, Mississippi, where they lovingly raised their family of five sons and two daughters. Pete and Marcia were married for sixty-seven years before his passing in 2024. Throughout her life, Marcia was known not only for her devotion to her family, but also for her extraordinary talent as an artist and sign painter. Her beautiful work adorned the windows and doors of many local businesses, leaving a lasting mark on the community. Her artistic spirit, warm heart, and strength touched all who knew her.

Marcia’s legacy of creativity and family devotion will live on through her children and the community.

She is preceded in death by her husband Pete Russell; parents John Edward and Mary Lou Seliskar; two brothers John Edward Seliskar, Jr. and Robert “Bob” Seliskar.

Marcia is survived by her children: Mark Russell (Martha), Kim Stennett (Joey), Vickie Hughes (Hank), Bryan Russell, Scott Russell (Heidi), Neil Russell, and Skip Russell (Tracy); one sister-in-law, Dreama Seliskar; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Pallbearers are: Mark Russell, Bryan Russell, Scott Russell, Neil Russell, Skip Russell, Joey Stennett, and Hank Hughes.

A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Tutor Funeral Home Chapel of Magee at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Magee City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee.

Marcia will be deeply missed, but her spirit and art will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
