Press Release from the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department

Shortly before midnight on June 7, 2018, Simpson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a missing man on an underdeveloped property located at Shivers and Vard Sullivan Roads. After an initial search for Mr. Homer May, the search was postponed until dawn Friday morning. Deputies still remained in the area. At dawn, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office along with Rankin, Madison, and Yazoo County Sheriff’s deputies, deployed drones in the morning hours and members of the Rankin County Strike Team were called in to help cover the difficult terrain. Finally, around 1:30 AM, Mr. May was found. AMR was called and he was treated for minor injuries and dehydration and taken to a local hospital.

We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the many departments that helped bring this event to a safe and successful close.

Donald O’Cain, Sheriff Simpson County
