In a race that only saw a difference of twenty votes, Dale Berry was elected Mayor Magee.  (Berry —330 & Vinson—310).  Angel McPhail Brister defeated Paul A. Arnold 326-295 making Brister Magee’s first woman alderman.  (By the way, Alderman is correct for man or woman!) Whitney Barnes Baker received 158 votes to Eddie Lofton’s 105 winning the Ward 3 Republican Primary.  Baker will appear on the June 6th General Election ballot against Independent Chris Lane.

Of the 42 affidavit ballots cast, only 16 were certified to be counted by the Republican Executive Committee.  The Committee consist of Chairman Tommy Meador, Jan Magee, Tommy Harman, and Roy Terrell.  The executive committee signed off on the election following the final tally.
