Williams is no stranger to Simpson County. Williams graduated from Magee High School where he was a stand out basketball player. James continued his education and basketball career at the University of Southern Mississippi. Williams signed a contract to play professional basketball with Atlanta but made the decision to stay in Mississippi.

Although Williams loved basketball, another passion and interest was food!  Following his graduation from USM, James headed to South Florida Community College in Avon Park, FL to study culinary science.  His love for food led to his decision to open restaurants.

Williams has many successful business endeavors. His first restaurant “Williams” was located across from Legion Lake. Williams owned the Lunch Box Cafe in the D’Lo Truck Stop. He purchased Circle J where he had a convenience store and the Lunch Box Cafe. Williams traveled to the neighboring city of Prentiss  and opened Williams Ole Fashion Burger and Pan Trout Fish. With the success in Prentiss, Williams open a second restaurant Williams Good Ole Buffett in Prentiss.

Williams Good Ole Buffett was such a hit Williams opened a second Buffett in Mendenhall. His Prentiss restaurant has been in business 15 years and Mendenhall 7 years. Williams loves downtown Mendenhall but his only problem is space.

The opportunity to move to  a larger building and with location on Highway 49 fit the plan with the former “Granny’s Table.”

Williams is a family business and his family works closely with him. His daughter Caissy is the goto person for the Mendenhall location.

Williams would like to “thank the people that supported him downtown Mendenhall” without his customers nothing would be possible.

Williams motto is “Our number one priority is our customer satisfaction.”

Make sure to join them April 3rd at their new location in Mendenhall.
