Magee Trojans and West Marion Trojans faced off for the final South State showdown. Both teams brought their all with the game going into extra innings at 4-4. The score would remain 4-4 until the top of the 11th inning when Landon Hayes, #14, connected on a homerun to have Magee lead 5-4. However, West Marion fought back to tie the game once more at 5-5. The game would remain tied for two more innings. At the top of the 14th inning, Magee scored 3 runs to lead 8-5 and held off West Marion in the bottom of the 14th to claim the South State title.
After a 4 hour long, 14th inning thriller, our Magee Trojans advance to play North Pontotoc for the State Championship at 1:00 PM today at Trustmark Park. Please come out wearing red to support our boys.
