Magee may not have come out on top in the final dance, but the Trojans have nothing to hang their heads about.  District champs, South State Champs and State runner up are titles the 2021 Trojans can claim.

The Booneville Blue Devils defeated the Magee Trojans 12-4 in the final game of a three part series.  The Trojans won the first game.  The Blue Devils came out on top in game number 2 forcing a best of 2 out of 3.

The first 3 Booneville batters got on base via a walk  and 2 Blue Devils hit by the pitcher.  John Daniel Deaton hit a grand slam in the park home run making the lead 4-0.  Magee scored once in the bottom of the first. Booneville increased their lead in the 2nd inning on a wild pitch and sacrifice fly.

Brennon McNair laced a two run homer in the bottom of the third cutting the lead 6-3.

The Blue Devils lit up the scoreboard in the fourth inning taking a 10-3 lead.

Booneville scored a run in the 6th and 7th innings to wrap up the Championship.

Jordon Magee took the loss for Magee. Chandler Pittman had 2 hits and Brennon McNair a 2 run homer.

In the words of Coach Eubanks,” we didn’t play well today and they did.”  Eubanks has been a driving force with this team.  He loves baseball…but more importantly, he loves his guys!

Tryout for the 2022 baseball season will be held Monday, weather permitting, at 3:30.  Summer workout for baseball will begin June 14th from 7-11.

Congratulations to an awesome team.  We at MageeNews.com have watched these guys play baseball since they were in City League.  Thanks for the memories.
