With all the distractions earlier in the year, and then the rain, Magee was determined to begin football Friday, August 28, 2020.

Rain, hurricanes, or corona were not going to stop the Trojans from playing.

The rain come to an end. The field was soggy, but the Trojans hit the field ready for action!

Magee hosted Florence for a Jamboree. #11 Thomas Dyess kicked off for the Trojans to start the season.

Magee’s defense held the Eagles. Magee found the end zone first on a long  40-yard pass from #2 Chandler Pittman to #7 Xavier Franks. # 35 Gavyn Chapin point after attempt was good Trojans up 7-0.

# 52 Jordan Magee had an awesome stop for the Trojans. Magee scored on a quarterback keeper when #2 Pittman ran into the end zone. Point after attempt by Chapin was no good. Trojans increased their lead 13-0.

Trojans defense answered with #21 Gavin Jones intercepted the ball for a touchdown. #11 Dyess point after attempt was no good. Trojans led by a score of 19-0.

#11 Dyess threw a pass to #2 Pittman for a touchdown. Celebration was delayed due to #54 Preston Grim for the Trojans being injured on the play. Grim was able to walk off the field. Point after attempt by #35 Chapin was good. Magee increased their lead by a score of 26-0.

Again, Trojan defense comes up big when #6 Javon Durr intercepted the ball from the Eagles on the 10 yard line. #11 Dyess connected with #13 James Floyd for a touchdown pass. The point after attempt by Chapin was good. Magee continued to lead by a score of 33-0.

Magee’s defense  shined all night. The Jamboree allowed the coaches to see the players in action and work on the areas of needed improvement .

Coach Cyess stated” We have a lot to do on special teams. Defense was really stout against the run. Offense ran the ball better than I thought we would but did not throw and catch as well as I had hoped.”

Magee will open season play Friday, September 4, 2020 at Trojan filed against the Tigers of Collins.
