The city of Magee purchased a new firetruck.
The long awaited arrival made its appearance Tuesday, December 4, 2019 evening during the Magee Board of Alderman meeting. All firefighters were present for the unveiling. The truck has been being built almost over a year now. The 2019 Resenbauer Warrior was custom built in Lyons, South Dakota. The total cost for the fire engine was $452,828.00.

According to Alderman Lane Steele this is the first truck the city has been able to paid for in full. This was not possible with out the help of the Simpson County Board of Supervisors who budgeted $130,000.00 and a grant from the state in the amount $70,000.00. The fire department sold some surplus property for the amount of $105,000.00. The remaining was paid for with fire department fundraisers and the City of Magee.
According to the Mississippi State Rating Bureau this truck should be good for rating and servicing for the next 30 years.
Charlie Valadie, Fire Marshall, wanted to thanks Phillip Magee and Michael Allan for spear hading the engine project. Many long hours of planning and preparing was given by these two. Shane Steele, Chris Tuggle, Lane Steele, Charlie Valadie , and John Hosey all play a key role in the project.
