Magee authorities were able to stop the sedan shortly thereafter without incident, at which time the driver, identified as, Damion Lamar Reed from 105 Quail Cove Brandon, MS,  was apprehended.
When asked why the driver attempted to evade police, the driver admitted to police he had smoked marijuana earlier in the night.

Reed was charged with Felony Fleeing, Driving with License Suspended, Driving Under the Influence 1st offense, and hold for Flowood PD for warrants.
Chief Randy Crawford stated that he was, “extremely grateful that the situation turned out the way it did.”  “We [Magee Police] were fortunately able to get him off of the highway and prevent the driver and/or innocent citizens from getting hurt or killed,” Chief Crawford added. FelonyCar
