Magee Police Chief Chris Jones reported on September 20, 2021 officers with Magee Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a James Anderson in front of Auto Zone. Anderson fled the vehicle and ran into Auto Zone. Officer’s found Anderson in the restroom of Auto Zone. After a search of the restroom Officers found what appeared to be a baggy of Methamphetamine that Anderson attempted to destroy.
Anderson was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence. Prior to the incident Anderson was out on felony bond with Smith County Sheriff’s office as a result of his new charges at Magee Police Department his bond has been revoked.
On September 21, 2021 Officer’s with the Magee Police Department responded to a residence in reference to a complaint of possible drug usage. After Officers arrived at the residence a LeRay Hayes attempted to fee out the back of the residence. Hayes was placed under arrest after being found in possession of Methamphetamine. Also, while on scene it was revealed to officers that a Stephanie Young was inside the residence and had felony warrants for her arrest. Both Hayes and Young were arrested on felony drug charges.
