Congratulations toJail and Dispatch Administrator/Officer Becky Freeman on her graduation from the National DARE Program. After completing 10 days of training, Officer Freeman will be assigned to Magee Elementary to teach drug resistance classes a couple of days a week.
DARE, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, is a program designed to educate young people about the dangers of drug use, violence, and gang involvement. It also teaches them the skills to resist peer pressure and make healthy choices. As a trained officer, Officer Freeman will be bringing this program to Magee Elementary, helping ensure our kids have the knowledge and confidence to stay drug free and make positive decisions for their future.
In addition to educating students, Officer Freeman’s presence at the elementary school while teaching will also add another level of protection to the students. This initiative underscores our commitment to enhancing school safety, protecting our children, and working diligently to keep our youth away from drugs.
