Magee and Mendenhall celebrated senior awards this past week. Mendenhall celebrated Monday, April 30, 2018 and Magee Thursday, May 3, 2018.
During Mendenhall’s award celebration several awards and scholarships were given. Top three students, Emily Holder, Logan Chapman and Michael Smith, were recognized along with
star student and teacher. Destiny Booth and Zyon Hill received MS Scholars scholarships. Price Wallace awarded Jared Howington with the Cattleman scholarships. Michelle Crace from Co-Lin’s Simpson Campus awarded scholarships recipients that will be attending Co-Lin. Dr. Bo Huffman and Hedi Russell presented Tech students with awards, chords, and stoles. Subject awards, honor chords and stoles were all presented during presentation.
Magee High School celebrated their seniors Thursday, May 3, 2018. Seniors were awarded honor chords and stoles for each club or organization. MS Blood services also presented students with blood chords that had given blood at least twice. Top three students, Lauren Burkes, Mac Anderson, and Madison May, were recognized. Seniors were awarded scholarships and subject area awards. Star Student Mac Anderson and Star Teacher Dick Wendt were recognized. Peyton Barnard and Kameron Durr received the MS Scholars scholarship. Chloe White received the Tech Master scholarship. Kameron Durr received an award for perfect attendance for 13 years! This year for the first time 10 students, Calder Reed, Addison Clyde, Kadin Adcox, Bayleigh Brown, Peyton Barnard, Tyoka Eda, Lauren Burkes, Madison May, Owen McCool, and Mac Anderson. were selected for the prestige’s Hall of Fame. Seniors with a 22 or higher on ACT were recognized.
These are just a few of the scholarships and awards awarded. Numerous awards were given at both schools. Each awards ceremony was beautiful and successful, and a lot of money was awarded in scholarships from the two schools.
