The Magee Lions Club proudly welcomed John Shows as its newest member during a recent meeting. Pictured (left to right) are Lion Dr. Tom Duncan, who served as his sponsor, Lion John Shows, and Lion Secretary James Smith.

Lion John Shows currently serves as Headmaster at Simpson Academy, where he is known for his strong leadership and dedication to education. His commitment to helping young people grow both academically and personally aligns perfectly with the Lions Club’s mission of service to others.

The Magee Lions Club, part of Lions Clubs International, has a long-standing tradition of community involvement in Magee and the surrounding area. Members are active in a variety of service projects, including vision and hearing assistance programs, scholarship support for local students, and community improvement initiatives. The club also participates in statewide Lions projects such as supporting the Mississippi Lions Eye Bank.  Welcoming new members like Mr. Shows helps ensure the club continues its mission of “We Serve”— the guiding motto of Lions worldwide. With his leadership background and heart for service, Lion Shows is expected to be a wonderful addition to the organization’s efforts to make a difference in the Magee community.
