During July Simpson County School Meeting, Debbie Davis announced the Gates Test Scores had been received.
Magee Kindergarten scored the highest in the district. 3rd Grade test assessments showed Magee with a 87% pass ratio, Mendenhall 97% pass ratio, and Simpson Central a 95% pass ratio. After a 2nd attempt all students but one, and this student should qualify for the good cause exemption, have passed. With the exemption, a 100% pass ratio will be obtained.
The board approved the budget for 2018-2019 school year presented at previous meeting.
Jeanie Pig was given approval for IDEA, Part B and Preschool 2018-2019 Project Applications.
Request and approval was given for the following:
Request from Mendenhall Jr. High to accept a $500.00 donation from Peoples Bank. A request from Teddy Dyess to attend the MAC Clinic, July 17-18 in Jackson, Ms, paid with athletic funds. A request from Dr. Paul Lawrence, Carla Lawrence, Dedra Clark- Allen, Amanda Busby, and Rhonda Berry to attend the iReady User Summit, July 17-18 in Biloxi, Ms. The Summit will paid for with federal funds. A request from Elton Travis, Jeanie Pigg and Veronica Brown to attend the MIDAS Demonstration & MS Council for Exceptional Children Conference, August 26-30, 2018 in Tupelo, Ms. These conferences are paid for with federal funds.
The board approved the a new job title for the Receptionist/Attendance Clerk at the high school. This title was formally Instructional Assistant.
No further business meeting was recessed until a special called meeting on July 17, 2018 @ 12:00 pm.
