The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Magee have been working hard to make a place for Senior Citizens in our area! Well, they did it! With a $10,000 donation from PrioirtyOne Bank, the PriorityOne Senior Center will become a reality next year! The money donated by PriorityOne will be used to renovate the old YMCA building which is located in the Eastside Community near the walking track.

From what I am hearing, you will not have to be “real” old to enjoy the center! None of the decision concerning how the center will operate are set in stone, but I think anyone 55 or older will have access to the building! The PriorityOne Senior Center will be managed by a part time City of Magee employee who will be responsible for scheduling events, managing the reservation calendar, set up and clean up of the facility before and after events, and planning new events.

The PrioiryOne Senior Center is in early stages of planning…so lots of fun and education activities are planned for the future.

The old YMCA building is the perfect place for the center. Parking is great! The building is old but has good bones! The design of the building is timeless! I can’t wait to see the update…maybe we can do a show!!! I’m all about being up in the development of anything!

Thanks to the Mayor and board for their hard work and dedication to the senior population of our city and county. We’re gonna have a good time and learn lots!

I’ll keep ya’ll updated on the progress.
