Magee High School is pleased to announced the top three graduates for the Class of 2022.
Mackenzye Yates is a senior and Valedictorian at Magee High School. She attends Corinth Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Robby and Jennifer Yates. Mackenzye was selected for Hall of Fame and is the President of Mu Alpha Theta, Vice President of Beta Club, Senior Class President, a member of The National Society of High School Scholars, National Technical Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, MS Scholars and MS Tech Master Scholar.
Mackenzye has served as a cheerleader at Magee all of her high school years. Her plans are to attend The University of Southern Mississippi to obtain a BSN and become a NICU nurse. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family.
Salutatorian is Alyssa Payne. Alyssa is the daughter of Deidra Floyd and Gerald Payne. She will be attending PRCC next fall to cheer. She plans on becoming an anesthesiologist after graduating college.
Alyssa is involved in Beta club, Student council and National Honors Society and serves as president for all three clubs. In addition to that she was named Magee High School’s Homecoming Queen, Prom Queen and Miss Magee High School. Alyssa was one of the students selected as Magee student Hall of Fame and Outstanding Girl.
Kaden Harper is a Senior at Magee High School, where he maintains a 4.0 GPA and has completed several hours of college credit thus far. Mr. Harper is the Class of 2022 Historian, a member of MHS Hall of Fame, has received Highest Honors, and Superintendent’s Scholar. Mr. Harper was voted Outstanding 2nd Year Vo-Tech Student, received the “I Dare You” Vo-Tech Award, received the Simpson County P-16 Council Highest Honors, and is MHS Outstanding Boy. Mr. Harper also received awards for the following in-school organizations: MHS Beta Club, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Vice President, and Skills USA at the Votech. He is a MS Scholar and National Tech Scholar. He has been on the yearbook staff for three years and served as their yearbook advisor his sophomore year. Kaden enjoys hunting, fishing and playing baseball. In fact, he played shortstop for the Magee High School Varsity Baseball team. He has been selected for numerous Who’s Who honors which include the following: Best All Around, Most Talented, Most Dependable, Cutest, Friendliest, and Most Likely to Succeed.
Mr. Harper is an active member of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoys being involved in their youth group. His future plans are to attend Jones College before earning his Architectural Engineering Degree from Mississippi State University. He is the son of Wes & Tiffanie Harper and is the grandson of Larry & Janie Walker, Mike & Cheryl Harper, and Fred & Ola Eubanks. He has two brothers, Peyton and Carson.
