Beta Club is a program that chooses children with potential leadership skills and helps them develop them by opening up opportunities for them. Beta students do projects, help around the community, have fund raisers, and even do public speaking. The Beta Club is an excellent program and anybody should be honored to be apart of it.
The qualifications for membership on the part of the student shall be: (a) a high school student in grades 9-12 “(b) worthy, moral and ethical character, (c) good mentality (d) creditable achievement (GPA of 3.0 or higher) (e) commendable attitude. The standards and means for appraising these qualities shall be determined by the administration of the school where the chapter is located.” (Beta Club Bylaws, Article II Membership).
Beta also offers many scholarships. The National Beta Club Scholarship Program offers over $300,000 in scholarships to outstanding Beta members in their senior year. Over 275 scholarships are awarded each year, ranging in value from $1,000 to $15,000. Incredibly, since 1991, beta has awarded more than $5 million in scholarships.
