The City of Magee Cemetery Committee met Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the city cemetery. The committee is composed of Alderman Sue Honea, members: Tawesia Meador, Joy Harris, Jason Ratcliffe, Gaylord Long, Rickey Anderson, and Jo Anna Barnes. The committee meets the first Tuesday of every month prior to the Board Meeting.
The committee gathered to tag voluntary trees (such as popcorn trees) for cutting and removed torn up flowers. Tim Bray, Public Works Director, met the group at the cemetery. Plans are for the city to cut the tagged trees on Wednesday.
“There are several stones in the cemetery that have been neglected and it bad shape, “ stated Honea. “If anyone has a loved one buried at Magee City Cemetery please make plans to check the grave.
