Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, March 21, 2017 for their regular scheduled meeting.

The Minutes and claims docket were approved.

Approval was given for six-month increases for two sanitation employees.

Mayor Jimmy Clyde advised board that Boswell was requesting a parade permit for the Torch Run for May 17, 2017 for the Special Olympics with a ceremony following at the end of Main Street. Approval was granted.

Chief Randy Crawford requested permission to attend the Chief’s Convention on April 20-24 got Golden Nugget. The fee is reimbursable.

A Public Hearing will be held on April 18, 2017 for the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan.

Board of Alderman agreed to meet with Mayor V.O. Smith from Collins, MS about information concerning a regional Industrial Park including three counties; Covington, Simpson and Jeff Davis.

Shane Steele. a representative from the Magee Diamond Club, met before the board to ask permission to enclose the pavilion located by the baseball field to house a locker room for the athletes. The pavilion was built with grant money and further investigation is needed to see if the building can be altered in any way. The request was taken under advisement until further investigation can be completed.

The fire department requested permission to use city van to travel to Pascagoula April 8, 2017 for the Chevron training. The training  is no charge to the city other than use of transportation.

With no further business, the meeting was recessed until a work session.
