Mayor Dale Berry reminded the public of a time change for board meetings effective December 7th at 6:00 p.m. The board room will open at 5:30 PM on the 7th if the public desires to come before the board with questions.

Board members present:  Sue Honea, Lane Steele, Patrick Brown, and Mark Grubbs.  Ward 2 Alderman Matthew Hickman was absent.

Mayor Dale Berry reminded everyone the Magee Christmas parade is set for Tuesday, November 30, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Berry advised “Mingle on Main” was a success. “The event was enjoyed by many.  I would like to see more similar events in the future,” stated Berry.

City crews are busy installing Christmas decorations and lights downtown.

Anyone experiencing issues with a water bill, contact  Libby at City Hall.

The board will research garbage charges in the coming weeks to see if there needs to be a realignment with businesses for the charges. Any changes would be made at a future board meeting.

Police Chief Chris Jones advised the board  two shooting have taken place within the city in the last weeks. All suspects were apprehended quickly and have been charged.

Jones asked the board to consider hiring and raising pay of officers and dispatchers. The board advised they would discuss the proposal  and get back with the police chief after a decision has been made.

City Hall will be closed Thursday, November 25th and Friday November 26th for the Thanksgiving Holidays. There will no garbage collection on these dates.

With no further business meeting entered into executive session to discuss personnel issues.
