Mayor Dale Berry reminded everyone during the Magee Board of Alderman meeting that Ride the Block is  Friday, April 6, 2018. Food vendors will be located on site. Chick fil A will be back along with Funny Fage Foods. Shadow River Band will be performing in the Community House. The mayor has asked anyone with a block story  to submit the story to city hall.

The board voted to rescind their vote on the Senior Citizen Project. The grant that was applied for does not meet requirements. Magee has a population of 4,500 and the maximum number of residents could not be over 3,900 to qualify for grant.

A new food truck ordinance was presented to the board by zoning director David Dunn. The board tabled any action to give board members and the attorney time to look at new proposal. Action will taken on the proposal at next board meeting. Park Director, David Dunn, asked for approval to hire Alex Boykin as Summer help for the recreation department. Alex has worked with the city several years during summer seasonal work. Alex will be completing an internship with the City of Magee through Mississippi State University. Board approved request.
