Magee Board of Alderman met Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Minutes and Claims dockets were approved. No further business meeting was recessed until Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
Wednesday, meeting was continued. Mayor Dale Berry reported a numerous of people attended Ride the Block. Some vendors sold out quickly and others did quite well. Restaurants in town were full and had successful nights. Another Ride the Block event is scheduled for the first Friday in April. Vendors will be available again.
March 15, 2018 @ 10:45 a parade and send off celebration for the Magee unit of the 155th National Guard will take place on main street followed by a speaker and lunch at the Community Center. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
City Auction was success with equipment bring approximately $15,00 and auto’s a little over $22,000.
In police matters Chief Randy Crawford asked permission to purchase a new explorer with drug seized money. Approval was granted. Chief Crawford also requested to move Investigator Joey Womack to patrol and Matt Gipson to Investigator. Request was also asked for Ben Stephens to be moved to narcotics and Chris Jones back to patrol. Approval was granted for both request.
No further business meeting was recessed until next scheduled board meeting Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
