During Tuesday, August 1, 2017 Magee Board of Alderman meeting, Mayor Dale Berry advised October 28, 2017 at Crazy Day a Proclamation for the 7 year old Boys World Series team and  the 1965 Magee Girls High School Basketball State championship team will be honored at Ural Everett Park.

Mayor Berry and Nevis Rankin advised MDOC would allow the use of the prisoners for garbage collection when modifications are made to the garage truck.

Beer sales were approved for convenient store owner Tienda TaQueria Lachiapaneca. The property is located behind Wendy’s Restaurant in the Radio Shack Shopping Center.

In police matters, investigators were approved for city vehicles to be taken to their home.  Shawn Cooper and Mike Grubbs were approved for employment as part time officers. The police department  was approved for a DUI Grant in the amount of $30,774.33.

The city has been busy cleaning up roads leading to the schools and assisting in clean up work around the middle and high schools. The city plans to purchase asphalt to fill in potholes Thursday, August 3rd. Anyone knowing of holes that need to be filled  are asked to contact City Hall with the locations of the potholes. The city is also asking citizens for help  noticing any city lights that are not burning. Please contact City Hall if you know of any city lights not working.  (601-849-3344)
