(*The Magee VS Jefferson County game was stopped at half time due to weather.  The game should be declared a win Monday by MHSAA)

The Magee High School Trojans kicked off their 2018-2019 football season with fire (and rain!) as they faced off against the Jefferson County Tigers. The boys had their game faces on as Magee prepared to play.

The first and second quarter played out in the Trojans’ favor as #5, Ross McInnis, lead Magee to their first touchdown. They attempted a two-point conversion, but it was no good. With the score 6-0, #3, Javo Thurman, threw the ball to #1, Josh Sanders, who then ran a 70 yard touchdown pass and scored Magee their second and final touchdown. The team tried again with another two-point conversion but it as well didn’t play out.

The Pride of Simpson County marching band performed the first song of their Justice League show with Drum Major Macie West and band directors Amanda and Brad Sumrall. Before halftime was ever over, the rain came down bringing thunder and lighting along with it. The rain started at 8:30 p.m. and the game was called almost an hour later with the final score 12-0.
