This smile says it all. Trumpet soloist Julian Mendez holds the trophy for the Magee High School Band making an Overall 1 at the State Festival in Pearl. This was a great accomplishment in the face of very tough judging on Saturday. The Drumline, Color Guard and Drum Major also made 1s and showed themselves as some of the top units in the State. We salute the students, their directors, Mrs. Gray and Mr. Mercer, parents and volunteers for all their hard work. You have made your city proud.
Me, Patrice, being a former band member knows the hard work and dedication it takes to pull off a great show and to receive superior ranking. Congratulation to each and everyone of the band members. What you do is why you are “The Pride of Simpson County.”
