Magee kicked the ball to start the first round of playoff’s against Jefferson County Friday, November 5, 2021.

Magee’s defense held the Tigers. After a Jefferson County forced punt, Magee’s offensive took over on the 28-yard line. #13 James Floyd for the Trojans got things started for Magee with a first down run. #14 Shaw and #13 Floyd ate up chunks of yardage. Floyd finished breaking the goal line first with a rushing touchdown. The point after attempt by #21 Gavyn Chafin was good. Magee out to an early lead by a score of 7-0.

Jefferson County started from their own 26-yard line. Magee’s defense #55 Jaylen Hicks forced a fumble. Magee was successful in the recovery. Magee was not able to capitalize on the turnover and was forced to punt the ball on fourth down. During Jefferson County’s next possession, special teams blocked a punt and Magee takes over with first and goal from the Tiger’s 9-yard line. #25 Gregory advanced the ball five yards.  #13 Floyd punches the ball in with 4:57 remaining in the first quarter. The point after attempt by Chafin was good. Magee increases the lead by a score of 14-0.

On the Trojan kickoff,  Magee  tackles give  Jefferson County a start on the 50-yard line.  A questionable pass interference call gave the Tigers a first down. Trojans force a fumble and #20 Jaquez Durr for Magee recovered the ball at their own 20-yard line. Again, Magee was not able to score on the turnover and forced to punt.

Second quarter Magee’s defense continues to be strong forcing 3 and out situations.

Magee scored on an explosive touchdown run by #25 Braeden Gregory with 11:35 remaining in the half. The point after attempt by Chafin was good. Magee was on top by a score of 21-0.

Magee defense continues to dominate forcing Jefferson County to punt. Magee takes over possession on the 50-yard line. #6 Kyerston Tucker for Magee has an ESPN acrobatic catch for a 50-yard touchdown pass from #3 Tristen Newsome with 9:57 remaining in the half. The point after attempt by Chafin was good. Magee led by a score of 28-0.

Tigers were forced to another 3rd and out and forced to punt. Magee takes over at the Jefferson County 45-yard line. Magee draws a flag for intentional grounding which pushes the Trojans back to the 35-yard line. Magee was unable to recover and forced to punt.

After a sack by #1 Jody Durr, that resulted in intentional grounding, the Tigers came up with a big play for a first down at the Magee 10-yard line. Magee defense would hold strong. Magee offense stalls again and forced to punt. On 4th down the Tigers are called for jumping off sides resulting in a first down for the Trojans. Magee responded with some nice quarter back runs by #3 Newsome, and then connected with with a pass to #5 Jaylen Floyd down to the Jefferson County 9-yard line. #14 Shaw for the Trojans ran the ball in the end zone for a touchdown with 29 seconds remaining in  the half. The point after attempt by Magee was no good. Magee led by a score of 34-0 entering halftime.

On Kickoff, #19  Banks Teater had one of the best hits of the night stopping Jefferson County at their own 29-yard line.

Second half Jefferson kicked from the 45-yard resulting in a penalty against the Trojans ending the first half. Magee fumbled on the first play which was recovered by Jefferson County.  The Tigers take over on the Magee 21-yard line. Magee’s defense pushed the Tigers back to the 30-yard line. Magee defense answered with a pick 6 by #4 Cameron Floyd for the Trojans. #2 Jameyian Floyd was instrumental on an interception and  a crushing sack on the quarterback. The point after attempt was not good. Magee led by a score of 40-0.

#7 DeMichael Green with a pick six for the Trojans was called back with an illegal block in the back. Magee fumbles the ball plays later. Jefferson County takes over. Magee draws a penalty on 4th down with roughing the passer resulting in first down for Jefferson County. Tigers are able to take advantage on penalty and score. The two point conversion was no good. Magee led by a score of 40-6.

Magee takes over at 25-yard line with #19 Teater as quarter back. #25 Gregory had a big gain to the Jefferson County 45-yard line. Magee turned the ball over on downs at the Jefferson County 39-yard line.

Magee’s #16 De’Juan Brown was credited with a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The point after attempt by Chafin was good. Magee on top by a score of 47-6.

Jefferson County returns the ball to the Magee 29-yard line on the kick off.  The Tigers completed a pass down to the Magee 2-yard line. #26 makes a great play on Magee defense back forcing to the Magee 15-yard line.

Regulation time would end and Magee won by a score of 47-6.

Magee advances to the 2nd round of playoff. The Trojans will travel to Enterprise Friday, November 12, 2021.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Trojans. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
