Eight grade students and their parents at Magee Middle School had the opportunity to listen to High School Counselor, Kelly Anderson and High School Principal, Dr. Tom Duncan, as they informed students of the requirements for classes as entering Freshman. Graduation requirements will be changing for incoming Freshman year Fall 2018. 
Hedi Russell counselor from the Vocational Technical Center explored the options of attending the Simpson County Technical Center while in high school. Hedi advised the classes that are taught and who to see to sign up for votec classes.
Patrice Boykin with the MS Scholars committee spoke to the students on becoming MS Scholars. Requirements were discussed with the students. MS Scholars Teach Master program was explained to the students who wanted to go the vocational route and the requirements to become Tech Scholars.
Parents that were not able to attend are advised to meet with the counselors and talk with your child on what paths each student needs to work toward.
Parents make sure you are involved in what is happening at your school and specifically with your child.
