In their final regular season game, the Trojans traveled up Highway 49 to take on the Tigers from Mclaurin.
On the opening drive, Magee’s #5, Ross McInnis, ran over several Tigers for a long first down. During the next play, Javo Thurman, #3 passed to Xavier Franks, #14, who scored a 16-yard touchdown. The PAT was good! The Tigers answered quickly with a 68-yard touchdown run and earned the extra point. .
With their scores tied at 7, the Trojans took their second possession and quickly made a 14-7 lead when Xavier Franks, #14, completed a 43-yard reception from Javo Thurman, #3. The Tigers came right back once again scoring an 11 yard run. The extra point was no good, which kept the Trojans in the lead by one point.
The second quarter saw the Trojans’ quarterback, Javo Thurman, #3, score two touchdowns! His first was a 15-yard run, and his second was an 11-yard run. Ending the first half, the score was Magee 28, Mclaurin 13.
The third quarter was a scoring fest for Magee! Chandler Pittman, #2, completed a 5-yard touchdown run, while Josh Sanders, #1, completed a 28-yard reception quarterback, Javo Thurman, #3. This resulted in the Trojans taking a 41-13 lead going into the fourth quarter. Although the Tigers scored a late touchdown in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to combat the Mighty Trojans! The final score was Magee 55, Mclaurin 19.
Magee will begin their 2018 playoffs next week with a home game at 7 o’clock! The Trojans are asking for all of your support. Please come out and support your Trojans as they face Hazlehurst Indians!
