Magee Board of Alderman voted Tuesday, December 16, 2020 to declare a Magee Trojan Day and give the Magee Football Team and Coach Dyess a Key to the City. The event and presentation will be held at a later date in the Spring due to the Pandemic.

Mayor Dale Berry complemented the success of the Magee Christmas Parade.

Berry thanked Busby Signs for the great job they did on displaying an ad from the City for the Magee Football Team winning the State Championship.

The board agreed to purchase new signs at the Welcome to Magee entrance locations that will display the message Home of the 2020 3A State Football Champions.

Berry reminded citizens, Simpson County along with many other counties are under a mask mandate by the Governor.

The board voted and approved the new 2021 Holiday Scheduled.

Superintendent Hugh Dillmore reported to the board that the new uniforms are scheduled to arrive January 4, 2020. The crews are busy repairing leaks that developed during the cold snap. New signs have been installed in the curve at Kennedy Drive. Flower beds around the town are being updated. Crews have been busy the last couple of days repairing ditches and potholes around the city.

Mayor Berry advised the Fire Department has completed checking all hydrants and no discoloration to the water should be present.

The meeting adjourned to enter executive session to discuss hiring a Mechanic for the City.
