ELLISVILLE, Miss. – With rain continually falling at Jones College, coaches, administrators, and the MACJC commissioner have decided to postpone the Softball MACJC State Tournament and move its location to the Magee Sports Complex.

Play will resume on Monday, May 13, 2019, with two fields in use. Co-Lin will finally wrap up their contest with Southwest at 12 p.m. The Lady Wolves lead the game 8-3 going into the top of the seventh inning.

The tournament will result in a state champion, but due to the limited time, all teams in the loser’s bracket will not be able to fight their way back into the title game. The top three teams of the tournament will join LSU-Eunice and advance to the NJCAA Region XXIII tournament, which is slated to begin on Wednesday, May 15. The two teams that play for the MACJC championship earn two slots, while the loser’s bracket winner will determine the last team in.

If the Lady Wolves hang on to the lead against the Lady Bears, Co-Lin will face the loser of Pearl River and Northeast at 5 p.m. A win in that game would pit Co-Lin against either Jones, East Central, Gulf Coast, or Itawamba, depending on the other games results, at 7:30 for the final region tournament slot.
