The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Deuteronomy 30:20: “Love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him, for the Lord is your life.” The Old Testament writer knew resolutely that mankind owes his very existence to God, who created us and made us in His image. We are, therefore, to love Him with our minds, our hearts, and our bodies. He is our everything, our all in all. Without Him, we are most miserable and without hope. We must, however, acknowledge His imminent place in our lives, ask forgiveness for our sins, and accept His marvelous gift of salvation. This pleases God greatly, and if we do trust and obey His good will, He will pour out such manifold blessings til we’ll be hard put to receive them all. Yes, “showers of blessings” will be ours! Amen and amen!
