“Lock your car doors” may be a silly thing to remind anyone…but friends, locking your car doors is a major way to deter robbery.

The thieves have hit my neighborhood! A down the street neighbor had his car broken into early early Friday morning.  His gun, plus shells, and money were stolen from his car.  The kicker is…his car doors were unlocked!

“I’ve never had any problems before” seems like a weak excuse when now you’ve got popped for a lot of cash and a gun.

As citizens we must take responsibility for our safety.  Thankfully, we in Magee have a great Police Department to back us up…but we must do our part.

Years ago, I asked one of my police friends “what can I do to protect my home and property?”  The number one thing the policeman told me was “Light!”  Motion lights placed in areas around your home are always a good idea.  Even a porch light will help!  Don’t leave your house dark if possible.  Anyone that knows me, knows my house is lite up like an airport!  I don’t like the dark!  I am not saying you need to go as overboard as me…but light up your world!

Neighbors, be on the look out for strangers in your area.  If anything looks suspicious…call the PD!
