(1/23/1950 – 6/2/2025)

Linda Janell Barnett, 75 of Baton Rouge, LA passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Heritage Healthcare in Hammond, LA. She was born Monday, January 23, 1950 in Laurel, MS.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:00 am until the service at 12:00 pm at Summerland Baptist Church, 80 SCR 28-4, Taylorsville, MS. Burial will follow in Summerland Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS. Bro. Kyle Magee will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

Linda was a devoted educator, music lover, and cherished friend. She was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of Tau Beta Sigma. She began her career as an elementary music teacher, inspiring young minds with her passion for the arts. She later moved to Baton Rouge, where she worked as an inventory specialist, known for her dedication and attention to detail. After she retired she became a Walmart associate, continuing to bring joy to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Carl Barnett and mother, Maddie Stringer Barnett.

Survivors include her friend, Shirley Ann Hartman of Kentwood, LA.

Pallbearers will be Robert Hartman, Dustin Hartman, Jonathan Hartman, Brandon Lopez, Leonard Hartman, and James Kimble.
