Beginning in 1973, Leveil Myers was spinning records for WSJC.  While attending Piney Woods School, Myers enrolled in a broadcasting class. The class presented Leveil the opportunity to meet and work  with Mike Mathis the manager/owner of WSJC.

Mathis invited Leveil to join the station and become an on air part of the radio staton.

WSJC began operation July 5, 1957 at 5 o’clock in the morning!
