The Scriptural passage for today is found in James 3:13: “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” We, as Christians, realize that we are constantly being watched by others to see if we’re what we purport to be. James tells us that we’re to live so that others might see and observe our lives and our works. We must do it, however, in humility and under the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit. If we ask for wisdom, it will be granted us. I also believe in asking for discernment in order to make wise determinations and choices. There’s a line from an old gospel song which has long appealed to me: “Let your life so be that all the world may see the joy of serving Jesus with a smile, a bright, shining smile.” Amen!
