The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 John 2:7: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” The subject of love is one near and dear to the Christian. The apostle knew that the message for all people was that of love and its importance in all areas of life. Jesus preached it during His earthly ministry and lived it daily. Without love, we are nothing and have nothing. To keep a spirit of community, love must be fostered, nurtured, and shared among the congregate. Discord and friction are not condoned by God and have no place among the brethren. Let us be all about love, especially in dealing with others of the fold. The world will know we are Christians by our love. God does not like ugliness. Amen!
