The Simpson Academy Cougars fell to the Leake Academy Raiders on Friday night 23-14.
The Cougars struck first with a dominating 80 yard opening drive that was capped off by a 9 yard touchdown pass from Brentley Berry to Matt Adcock. On the very next possession, the Raiders responded with a 62 yard drive of their own and finished off with a 1 yard TD run by Rhett Atkinson. Then with 3 seconds left in the first quarter, Brentley Berry hit Sawyer Dunn on a hitch route, he broke 1 tackle and scampered for a 60 yard touchdown pass. The Cougars led after the first quarter, 14-7.
