Simpson County Technical Center’s Program Feature of the Month – Law and Public Safety
Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) is proud to feature Law and Public Safety as its program of the month.
Students enrolled in our law and public safety courses learn about the history of law and legal systems in the United States, in addition to specialized areas and topics within the law and public safety sector. This program helps students prepare for careers in planning, managing, and providing legal, public safety, protective services and homeland security, including professional and technical support services.
Over the course of the 2021-22 school year, SCTC students have participated in engaging programming such as a simulated mass casualty exercise, Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) exercise, and tours of college campuses offering similar programs.
Students in Brianne Kelly’s law and public safety class recently reenacted the notorious trial of Casey Anthony, who was acquitted in 2011 of her 2-year-old daughter’s murder and other charges.
