On the 2nd part of the series, I want to focus the Magee Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Laura Lynn Barr.

Laura Lynn runs Sta-Home Health and Hospice located off Highway 49 and was elected as a Chamber Board of Director the same time as me back in 2016.
Laura Lynn was nominated and elected this year by the Board of Directors to serve as Vice President. The Magee Chamber of Commerce by-laws state that the Vice President shall roll on as the President the following year. This means that Laura Lynn will succeed me as the President of the Chamber for the year 2018-2019.
Laura Lynn comes from a long legacy of Chamber Presidents. Laura Lynn’s Grandfather, Dad, and sister have all served in this role. Being that this is such a generational honor for the Barnes family, I believe that Laura Lynn will not only uphold the Chamber’s legacy, but carry it with dignity.

I have been very fortunate to have worked alongside such a wonderful and hardworking Vice President. Laura Lynn has never missed a meeting or any event that the Chamber has hosted. Laura Lynn was a huge supporter and contributor for the Chamber’s special project, “Project Downtown”. Laura Lynn volunteered for every event but what sticks out the most to me was her efforts with the “Mr. and Mrs. Crazy Day Pageant”. Laura Lynn took a load off of my plate this year by taking on the full responsibility of the Pageant. Laura Lynn worked her tail off and was able to pull together a successful and fantastic Pageant. Laura Lynn contributed to the rest of Crazy Day as well. She was up bright and early working alongside the rest of the board in the freezing cold that morning. She even played the role of Mrs. Claus for the “Downtown Disney Christmas Parade”.
Laura Lynn has served the Chamber and the City of Magee to the fullest extent this year. I am proud to say that she will make a great President. The Magee Chamber of Commerce has put many accomplishments under its belt this year. I have the utmost confidence that Laura Lynn will not only keep the momentum going, but surpass it by leaps and bounds.
