The Lady Wolves opened the third quarter with a 9-4 scoring run to tie the game at 35-35 with just under six minutes of play remaining. The two teams then began trading baskets and one-point leads for the next few possessions, but the Lady Wolves were able to gain a 45-40 lead behind the strength of a 10-5 scoring run with two and a half minutes left in the quarter. The Lady Bulldogs stormed back and outscored the Lady Wolves 10-7 to close out the quarter; however, the Lady Wolves held a 52-50 lead at the end of the third quarter.

The fourth quarter began with two teams once again bringing the game to a tie at 56-56 with seven minutes of play left. The Lady Bulldogs then went on an 8-4 scoring run to hold a 64-60 advantage with two and a half minutes remaining. The Lady Wolves then outscored the Lady Bulldogs to cut the lead down to 70-67 with 23 seconds left. A made layup by sophomore guard Jakyra Young (Koscisuko) cut the lead down to 70-69 with 10 seconds left in the game. The Lady Bulldogs then went 1-for-2 at the free throw line and the Lady Wolves scrambled down the court to try and take the lead but missed the potential game-winning shot. However, the Lady Bulldogs were called for a travelling foul after the defensive rebound giving the Lady Wolves the ball with 0.7 on the clock. With the final play of the game, a pair of freshmen guards made the biggest play of the night as Tandria Minor (Brandon) inbounded the ball to Zykeria Anderson (Edwards) who banked in the game-winning three-point shot as the buzzer sounded to give the Lady Wolves a 72-71 win.

Zykeria Anderson led the way for the Lady Wolves as she led all scorers with 24 points to go along with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. The 24 points are a Wolves career high for Anderson, who has now hit double-digit scoring marks in nine straight games and 10 of the last 11 games played. Sophomore guard Aniya Sanders (Vicksburg) also had a big impact on the game with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds along with one assist and one steal.
