On Friday, February 10, 2023, the Lady Cougars beat Heritage 40-37 to claim their spot in the championship game. The first quarter was a tight game with a 1-point difference (13-12), but Simpson was in the lead. The SCA girls began to fight hard and ended the second quarter 24-18. After halftime, the Lady Cougars were determined to stay in the lead (32-27). Going into the final quarter, Heritage was starting to make a comeback. The quarter ended 40-37, with another win for the Cougars.
Simpson will host the championship games on Saturday, February 11, 2023. The Lady Cougars will play Pillow Academy, at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
