Just saying…..We are proud of Kyle!!! Kyle Bynum received All American Honors in the javelin throw in the NCAA National Competition.
Here is a note from his dad, Roger, with all the details!
“Some of you have already heard, Kyle finished 8th last night in javelin earning 1st team All-America honors by 1” with a throw of 229’10” (Top 8 make 1st team All-America). After the first 2 throws he was sitting in 18th place with a best of 216’8”. He was the last thrower throwing in the pre-lims and on his last throw he threw 229’10” to move up to 8th and qualify for the finals and 3 more throws. He did not improve in the finals and stayed at 8th. I have attached some pictures and the results.
We are so proud of him. All the work he has put in over the years since he started throwing javelin at 13 years old has paid off. He has had to overcome several obstacles including 2 surgeries and another procedure on his elbow.”
