Quite the love story!
(Hi, Sue. I read Magee News every day. It has become part of my early morning routine.)
My wife (Tal Hyun Yu) and I will be celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary tomorrow (April 27).
Tal immigrated from Seoul, South Korea, in 1968 to pursue her education. We met in the fall of 1971 in North Carolina and married in April 1972. She put her education on hold until much later, finally getting her Masters in Behavioral Science in 1990. She began her career at Mississippi State Hospital in November 1990, retiring in 2010 as a Psychologist-I after working at Boswell Regional Center and Ellisville State School.
I am originally from Louisiana and served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring in 1989. With a Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, I worked as a leadership coach and trainer in the electric utility and automotive industries until retirement from Nissan-Americas in 2013.
Tal enjoys vegetable gardening. I walk a couple of hours a day, and play a little golf.
Tal and I have lived in Magee since 2000 (we got here as fast as we could!), and currently reside on Old Magee Road.
We raised three children and have four grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 19 years.
(Thank you Keller for the info—what a great story!)
